This Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, LSSC’s Jon Cochran, Kali Schellenberg, John Stapleton, and Lowry Yankwich participated in an expungement clinic organized by the Volunteer UP Legal Clinic.
Joined by paralegal Mariame Savane of American Water, the team counseled numerous indigent clients in filing petitions for expungement of criminal records or explaining a path forward how the client can become eligible in the future to file a successful expungement petition. The event was held at Camden County College, and the Camden County Bar Association, New Jersey Public Defender, and Archer & Greiner sponsored it. Prosecutors from the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office also were on hand to assist in identifying and resolving issues to help ensure that filed petitions are more likely to be successful.
