WHYY-FM interviewed Peter (Tad) LeVan, Jr. regarding A.W. v. Commonwealth, which LSSC filed on behalf of parents, caregivers, and community organizations to challenge Pennsylvania’s ChildLine Registry as unconstitutional. As alleged in the suit, it is far too easy to be “indicated” for child abuse in Pennsylvania and listed on the Childline Registry. The allegations against parents and caregivers often arise from situations like missed doctor appointments, accidental injuries, or medical conditions with unknown causes.
Tad is leading the case for plaintiffs, along with co-counsel from the Employment and Family Advocacy units of Community Legal Services and Professor Seth Kreimer of the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School.
